While the tiny shop in Blackwood, South Wales, may not be ideal for all businesses it is on a busy street and so will have plenty of footfall. The guide price for the shop is £27,000 at auction
One of the smallest shops in the UK that is so narrow that you can touch opposite side walls with your arms outstretched is going up for sale.
Located on High Street in Blackwood, South Wales, the Central Buildings property is just 4.5 feet wide with a depth of 28 feet, reported Media Wales.
The empty retail property, sandwiched between a shoe shop and an opticians, will come up at auction in October with a guide price of £27,000.
Debra Bisley, of Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions, is confident the 137sq ft unit will attract a lot of interest.
She told BusinessLive : “We believe that this is surely the smallest shop currently for sale in South Wales. Although it’s small it’s in an ideal spot for the right business.
“The shuttered shop has previously traded as a vape shop, a sweets stall and as a sandwich bar.
"The possibilities for the space may not be endless, but with some imagination it could become perhaps a takeaway coffee shop, card shop, small boutique or perhaps a mobile phone repair outlet or bijou beauty salon or nail bar."
Ms Bisley said that any buyer would benefit from the shop having "plenty of footfall".
“The shop, sandwiched between ShoeZone and Specsavers and with a range of independent and national traders nearby, has a kitchenette at the back so there’s a start for the entrepreneurial cafe owner at least,” she explained.
“Ideally located on the thriving High Street of Blackwood, this property benefits from plenty of footfall."
The shop will come up for auction on October 19 with Paul Fosh Auctions.
